Pizhichil
Pizhichil is a special form of Ayurvedic treatment that combines rich oil massage with a special heat treatment. During this indulgent treatment 5 liters of medicated and warmed Ayurvedic oil is continuously poured over the body while two practitioners rub and stimulate the skin using hands and special cotton cloths. The process is performed with the person both lying down and while sitting in a droni designed for the purpose of applying medicated oils. This is a highly rejuvenating treatment that enhances muscular tone and retunes the entire nervous system.
Application of lukewarm herbal oils over the body by 2 to 4 masseurs in a special rhythmic style for about 60 to 90 minutes per day for 7 to 21 days. It is a highly rejuvenating treatment useful in all cases of nerves disorders, treatment for paralytic, rheumatic, diabetic patients etc and as a rejuvenate course.

Panchakarma
Panchakarma is a sanskrit word that means “five actions” or “five treatments”. This is a process used to clean the body of toxic materials left by disease and poor nutrition. Ayurveda says that imbalanced doshas create waste matter. This waste matter is called Ama in ayurveda. Ama is a foul- smelling, sticky, noxious substance that needs to be evacuated from the body as thoroughly as possible. Panchakarma will stick out the excess doshas (or in balances in dosha) along with sticky Ama out of your system by means of the body waste evacuation channels such as sweat glands, urinary tract, intestines, etc. Panchakarma is , thus, a balancing operation. It involves daily massages and oil bath and is extremely pleasant experience. Ayurveda recommends Panchakarma as a seasonal treatment for toning your mind body system. Panchakarma is a five-fold therapy; it is highly personalized based on the needs of the individual depending on the body type, dosha imbalances etc. Usually, only parts of the five therapies are needed.
Njavarakizhi
This rejuvenation technique done by a special kind of cooked rice, tied into boluses, dipped in warm milk and herbal decoction and massaged into the body through special technique by therapists. This relieves Paralytic strokes, tissue strengtheners, debility, Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Dhara
It is a process by which herbal oils, medicated milk, buttermilk etc are allowed to flow on the forehead in a special method for about 45 minutes in day for 7 to 21 days. This treatment is for insomnia, vatha predominated diseases, mental disorders, neurasthenia, memory loss and certain skin diseases. In Thakra Dhara, after giving head massage medicated buttermilk is poured in an uninterrupted flow from a hanging vessel to the forehead and scalp. This is very good in treating scalp problems like dandruff, psoriasis, hyper tension, diabetes, hair loss and other skin complaints. This gives head very cooling action and generates sleep. In Siro Dhara, after giving a good head massage herbal oil is poured in an uninterrupted flow from a hanging vessel to the forehead and scalp. This is very good in relieving stress and strain and generates sleep. Maintains hormone balance.
Sirodhara
In this process, some herbal oils, medicated milk, medicated butter milk etc are poured on the forehead in a special method for about 45 minutes in a day for a period of 7 to 21 days. This treatment is mainly for insomnia, vatha predominated disease, mental tension and certain skin diseases.
Vasthi
Certain herbal oils, herbal extracts etc are applied through the rectum for a period of 5 to 25 days. This treatment is arthritis, paralysis, hemiplegia, numbness, gastric complaints associated with rheumatism and constant constipation.
Sirovasthi
This is very good in the treatment of cervical problems, sleeplessness, migraine and other problems of head, hair loss and tinnitus. Certain lukewarm oil poured in to cap fitted on the head for 15 to 60 minutes per day according to the patient’s conditions for a period of 7 days. This treatment is highly effective for facial paralysis, dryness of nostrils, mouth and throat, severe head aches, burning sensation of head and other vatha originated diseases. A leather sleeve of about 6 to 8 inches in length is placed on the shaven head of the patient and a band (vartti) tied around the forehead to keep it in place. Kneaded dough is used to line the inside of this sleeve and allowed to remain on the head for a while. The length of time the oil should be kept there is determined by the physicians according to the need.
Udvarthanam
This is a typical massage with herbal powders for about 30 minutes daily for a period of 14 to 28 days. This treatment is for the diseases like hemiplegia, paralysis, obesity (excess fat) and certain rheumatic ailments.
Abhyangam
Special type of oil massage in which strokes are given according to the diseases for 45 minutes per day for 14 days. This treatment is very useful for obesity, especially for diabetic Gangrene ( a condition due to lack of blood circulation in the extremes of the body) etc. And it is a popular body massage in ayurveda. The word abhyanga itself means to massage. Special type of oil massage in strokes are given according to the needs for about 45 minutes per day for 14 days. It is very useful for obesity, diabetic gangrene. The massage is done with a combination of specially prepared Ayurvedic herbal oils and applied all over the body simulating the vital points. This is very good for general health of the skin and prevents early aging and relieves muscular aches and pain. After the massage herbal steam bath is also given. Abhyangam can increase the production of white blood corpuscles and antibodies, which provide more resistance against viruses and diseases. This helps the defense mechanism in the body and increases immunity toward environmental changes. In this way Abhyangam massage is a protector, preserver and a rejuvenator, increasing self-confidence and will power.
Nasyam
Herbal juices, medicated oils etc are applied through nose for 7 to 14 days. This treatment is highly effective for certain kinds of headaches, paralysis, mental disorders, certain types of skin diseases etc. Drops of medicated oil are administrated in each nostril of the patient. This treatment eliminates the toxins form head and neck region and is useful in curing headaches, migraine, sinusitis, chronic cold, chest congestion, cervical spondylosis and Facial Palsy. It assures lightness of the body and head ensures better sleep. Helps in curing degeneration of cervical vertebrae.
Snehapanam
Snehapanam is an Ayurvedic therapeutic measure given to patients for the cure of gastroenterological ailments. Snehapanam is characterized by the oral intake of ghee (purified buttermilk) made from cow’s milk for internal purification before starting the panchakarma therapy (purva karma) or as a treatment.
Kizhi
Kizhi treatment is a therapy wherein heated herbs and medicinal oils are tied in cloth bags; and placed on the area to be treated. This is followed by specific massages, done using the fingers, heel of the hand or palm. The pressure application varies according to the nature of ailment and the spot.
Yoni Prakshalanam
In Yoni Prakshalanam, medicated herbal oils are applied through the vaginal area.Yoni Prakshalanam is a treatment in which herbal oils and decoctions are applied through the vagina. This is recommended for gynaecological disorders. It is also practised as a purification process for the genital organ.
